Quincy Osborn - Assistant Coach

Quincy Osborn was hired in the summer of 2016 as the team's full-time assistant coach and brings an unbelievable background in the sport to the Cobbers program.

Osborn was an NCAA Division III national champion while wrestling for Augsburg and was a two-time Division I NCAA national meet participant at the University of Minnesota.

In addition to his national caliber experience as a wrestler in college, Osborn has also gained experience as a coach. He has over eight years of collegiate coaching experience and was the head coach at Lakeland College (Wis.) for the 2014-15 season. Last year returned to his hometown of Grand Rapids to teach for the Itasca area schools and was also the assistant wrestling coach at Grand Rapids High School.

As a wrestler Osborn has been highly successful at every level of competition. He was a two-time state champion and also had a state runner-up finish at Grand Rapids High School. He went 46-0 in his senior year and recorded an impressive 87-2 record in his final two seasons of high school.

Osborn started his collegiate journey by wrestling at the University of Minnesota. He lettered three times for the Gophers and qualified twice for the NCAA national championship meet. Osborn finished fifth at 149 pounds at the Big Ten championship meet in 2005. He then transferred to Augsburg where he won the 2006-07 NCAA Division III national title at 141 pounds with a record of 44-2.

Osborn began his coaching journey at Augsburg as an assistant coach. He coached with the Auggies for two years and then went on to become the assistant at Division I Ohio University. He stayed at Ohio University for four years and then became the assistant coach at the State University of New York at Buffalo which is also a Division I program. Osborn earned his first head coaching position in 2014 when he was hired by Lakeland.

Osborn earned his bachelor's degree in history from Augsburg in 2009 and then went on to obtain his master's degree in coaching education from Ohio University in 2011.
